The Mayor’s Office of Appointments (MOA) is dedicated to advancing Mayor Adams vision of building a diverse and inclusive team of senior leaders in city government. MOA is responsible for identifying candidates for mayoral consideration to serve on more than 200 boards and commissions that are integral to the operation and growth of the city. MOA conducts vetting for all city-wide senior leadership appointments in addition to members of boards and commissions to serve within the Administration. It is our responsibility to assess and identify any flags or unfavorable findings in the candidate’s background that could negatively impact the Administration, should the candidate be appointed. Therefore, the vetting process is extensive and may require a longer review period contingent upon their activities.
